What can I expect when I apply for a job with Match Recruitment?

If you are seeking work, you will notice that most positions are now advertised on-line via a mix of website, job advertising boards and social media.

When you apply for a job with Match Recruitment we will use these methods as well as internal and external database searches to find candidates that match the job requirements.

CVs are received into the and this is checked twice a day.  When we check the e-mails we respond with a standard reply.  Every CV is then read by the Consultant handling the position and the most suitable CVs are short-listed for the next stage. 

We then contact short-listed candidates by e-mail to arrange a telephone interview with us.  Frequently these are arranged at lunchtimes or another convenient time for you.  During the phone interview we will ask you questions about your skills, experience in relation to the job or other roles we have available and other questions such as where you live and how you will travel to work, before briefing you on the details of the job and identity of the hirer.  If you wish to be submitted we will then prepare details to be submitted to our client – the hiring company.  We will also discuss any changes that we think will be beneficial to your CV. 

Once the application is made we will send you confirmation and a job description.  Applications are then followed up and interviews arranged, where applicable. The interview process can vary considerably depending on the number of candidates, the complexity and urgency of the hire and availability of parties to attend interview.  We will often meet you before the interview at a convenient location and time for you and will also check ID, in order to comply with the Employment Agencies Act and Asylum and Immigration requirements to make checks on work-seekers.

Once the recruitment process is complete we will handle the offer and advise unsuccessful candidates of the outcome.  Usually, at this final stage a verbal offer is made by us to you, on behalf of the hiring company and if you wish to accept, the hiring company then write to you to confirm their offer and contract.  We will assist in confirming the start date and taking up references to make the process as smooth as possible.

Can I just register by coming into the office?

We find our best results now are achieved by focusing our efforts on recruiting for the job vacancies we currently have, i.e. more of a job focused approach.  We are happy to receive speculative CVs but only arrange face to face appointments with people we are able to short-list, in order that we can meet the timelines for the jobs we are handling.
