Account Manager

Salary: up to £35,000 ae + bonus & bens

We are looking for an Account Manager to manage and deliver a range of diverse medical education activities to a well-established client base, ensuring that all projects are delivered to the highest possible standard, on time and within budget.

Experience within the life science industry / medical education is required for this position.

Main duties:

  • Liaising with and developing lasting relationships with pharmaceutical clients and faculty, to become the primary point of contact, as well as developing effective supplier relationships
  • Responsibility for fulfilling the project from brief through to final implementation, understanding the scope of the requirements and achieving these on time, to a high standard.
  • Managing financial aspects of the account including developing and monitoring bespoke budgets and proposals as well as tracking profitability of projects. This includes working with the wider team to develop detailed responses to RFPs and proactively seeking RFPs through client interactions
  • Developing and tracking of project status and timelines in order to provide regular updates to internal and external teams
  • Demonstrating a sound knowledge and understanding of medical education and working to develop an awareness/understanding of how each project sits strategically within an account
  • Ensuring awareness and understanding of relevant compliance guidelines and taking responsibility for applying these to all projects
  • Requirement for a high level of attention of detail within all documents and communications and adherence to ‘best practice’ and internal processes at all times
  • Trouble shooting challenges and issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Mentoring junior members of staff
  • Currently much of the work is handled digitally and remotely but you may be required to travel internationally as Covid restrictions are eased

Experience and Education Required:

You will need a medical education/ communications industry background and have proven experience in a similar account management position.  A science degree or demonstrable knowledge/interest of the life science sector. Excellent communication skills are essential and you must be well organised, great at planning, flexible and solution orientated.
